Does your writing matter?
Have you ever asked yourself that question? I bet you have. I sure have.
With so much noise out in the world, we ask ourselves, should we add to that noise with our books?
I’ve asked myself this question as well.
The answer to the first question is yes. A resounding yes. Your writing matters.
Same answer for the second question. Yes, yes, yes. Write your books. And your blog posts. And your articles. They all matter.
They are not ‘noise’. They are instruments playing in the human symphony.
(Sure, some folks make noise for noise’s sake. But you don’t need to do that.)
Why should you keep writing?
Because art connects us.
Why do we read? Why do we watch TV and movies? Heck, why do we watch Instagram reels about puppies being rescued or monks walking barefoot across a country?
Because art connects us.
We read a book or see a movie and think, “Me too.” Or, “I’ve felt that way.” Or, “I’ve never been in a zombie apocalypse but I know what it’s like to be afraid about a health scare.”
Art connects us as human beings. It reminds us that we are together on this spinning rock. We are family. We are one. And we need one another.
Your art – your books and stories – contribute to this medium of connection. Your books and stories will connect with readers and remind them that they are not alone.
That’s why it matters.
Art connects us.
Keep writing. Keep sharing your work. We need it.
